Young Australians have had a rough trot the last two years. There’s been a spike in anxiety and disengagement as COVID has disrupted day-to-day schooling. Fortunately, many students have had the resources and support to adapt. But there’s a large percentage of teenagers who aren’t so fortunate, and it’s these disadvantaged students who have felt the pandemic’s impact the most.
So we’ve joined forces with electronics giant Samsung to help those less fortunate teenagers by giving over 1,000 in-need students free access to Student Edge Plus. The lucky recipients will be chosen from our Student Edge membership and wider High School partner network.
If you’re not well acquainted with Student Edge Plus, the membership includes access to our new online learning platform, featuring on-demand, snackable video content that teaches essential life skills. To make sure these students learn from the best, we’ve collaborated with industry experts across the worlds of financial literacy, employment, careers and university. And this is just the beginning. We’re partnering with more experts to create more courses as we speak.
The value of the platform is that the courses build on one another and lead to pathways with real-world outcomes. This means the impact is measurable, actionable, and targeted to address these skill gaps. The outcome? Students have the opportunity to become more employable, independent, and resilient in an uncertain job market and world.
“We created learning pathways to help take away the fear of the unknown and empower students with wonderful potential to navigate decisions around their education, life and career in a way that nurtures their hearts, minds, and passions,”
Co-Founder – Damien Langley.
Our existing partnership with Samsung gives our members access to discounted technology products that can aid learning. Both companies are focused on pioneering positive social change, creating unique learning opportunities for young people and empowering and supporting the next generation to achieve their full potential.
