Finding extra opportunities for young Australians can be hard these days, especially for teenagers in low socio-economic, regional and rural areas. With an increasingly tight job market and the ongoing effects of the pandemic, any leg up is a great help for students.
So, we’ve joined forces with The Australian National University (ANU) to help young people in need by giving them free access to Student Edge Plus – thanks to ANU.
Many of those licenses have been provided to Mission Australia, who will distribute the Student Edge Plus licenses to students aged 11 to 17 in low socio-economic, regional, and rural areas in the Northern Territory, South Australia, and Tasmania.
“As the national university our commitment to serve society through transformational research and education goes beyond those currently within the ANU community. We are excited by the opportunity to partner with Student Edge to support young people enhancing their skills, discovering their strengths, and utilising the tools to achieve their goals.”
James Brann – Director, University Experience at ANU
Student Edge Plus memberships include access to online bite-size video courses and learning pathways that aim to teach young Australians essential life skills and improve their education. These courses are written in collaboration with industry experts across multiple fields.
Currently there are six distinct pathways with more than 38 courses, which include financial literacy, job readiness, pathways into uni and VET, wellbeing, entrepreneurship and more. Each course builds on the previous one, developing a total understanding.
“We created learning pathways to help take away the fear of the unknown and empower all students to navigate decisions around their education, life and career in a way that nurtures their hearts, minds, and passions,”
Co-Founder – Damien Langley.
This partnership with ANU allows the recipients of the Student Edge Plus licenses to complement and build upon their school learning, giving them the opportunity to go further.
