Scotch College has partnered with Student Edge to provide Year 11 and 12 boarders with access to crucial life, job and money skills.
It’s part of Scotch College’s mission to best prepare its students for the world after school.
Year 11 and 12 boarders will have access to Student Edge Plus (SE+) – a new online learning tool from Student Edge with on-demand learning pathways taught by industry experts.
Working their way through short online video courses, the Pathways will help young people achieve their goals outside of the classroom from getting a job to becoming money savvy and getting into their chosen uni.
“We plan for our graduates to be well equipped for life beyond school and we think Student Edge Plus can play an important role in helping us develop those skills and attributes in our boys,” Jordan Owenell, Head of Boarding at Scotch College, said.
“We think the courses offered by Student Edge will be of great benefit to the boys and we look forward to developing a partnership whereby we also help to inform and shape content for SE+ courses that are suitable for our boys.”

The memberships, which were sponsored by Scotch College, provide an opportunity for young people to learn essential life skills organised into key learning pathways – Ready, Set, Uni; Get Job Ready; and Real Money Talk.
Last week, during an onboarding session with the Student Edge team, students explored everything there is to unlock as part of their membership.
The more they learned, the more conversations around tax file numbers, super and entrepreneurship filled the room.
“I feel pretty overwhelmed with my choices for the future,” one student said.
“Where does super even go?” another student asked.
Student Edge Plus was developed in response to a growing need to teach students essential life skills to help navigate the murky waters of being young in today’s ever-changing world.
“We’ve been listening to the needs of young people and working with experts to develop content to help young people learn practical things, such as managing money, discovering your purpose and getting job ready,” said Student Edge Chief Executive Officer, Craig Chetty.
“Our Team is passionate about improving the lives of young people and I’m really looking forward to our members using the updated platform.”
